Why Obama is the best thing for the GOP...

Kind of a cruel irony isn't it?  That the man who so many people perceive, and rightly so, as a socialist radical who will bring the country to its knees may just turn out to be a blessing in disguise.  As weird as it may sound an Obama presidency may actually be the best thing to happen to the GOP and the conservative movement.  Jimmy Carter brought us Ronald Regan because people were so outraged with how his joke of a presidency had been conducted that they demanded change.  Given that there is such little difference between Obama and Carter already...the same standard may very well apply.  Now we all know exactly how terrible and how bad having a socialist inside the most powerful office in the world will probably be but lets face it the next 4 years are going to be dark and there is no way around that.  But if Obama wins the election the country will soon see exactly how bad he will be once he gets in office and how much more the taxes will spike as program after program is implemented with an end result of taking even MORE our money.

As it stands now the GOP stands to lose tremendous power inside the Senate should the seats swing to the left and if enough of them do change their rump occupants any sort of filibuster will be overturned by a Democrat majority.  The house is currently fairly blue so it isn't like things will change there.  And with a few seats on the supreme court opening up we will soon get judges who will, if I remember the quote right, "interpret the law based on their convictions and their beliefs" or something like that.  Basically interpret it however the hell they want to, which will, of course, but nothing short of legislating from the bench and judicial activism.  All in all Obama will be given absolutely free reign to get through anything and everything he wants to.

As absolutely mortifying as this sounds it actually may backfire on him.  His cap and trade idea, though it isn't that unique as all three are pushing for it, is nothing short of nationalizing, or as the wonderfully articulate Maxine Waters so gracefully stated socializing, big business (Hello Mr. Obama...this is your old friend Hugo calling).  His groundbreaking ideas of unilateral disarmament are nothing short of the ideology of the 70's when screwy shirt wearing, unbathing, pot smoking, promiscuous, long haired hippies "defied" the government in a hemp induced stupor believing they knew the right answers were to put flowers inside of M-16 rifles and sing Kumbiya in their pagan attempts to lift the Pentagon out of the atmosphere (and yet we are supposed to applaud this sort of behavior as heroic and patriotic despite it pushing on American youth the ideas that it is okay to openly defy your government in such wonderful means as public fornication).  His calls for talks with the leaders of known terrorist states sponsors are just even more terrifying given his position on disarming our military.  That is just begging for trouble come knocking at our door.  If his military cuts go through it can almost unequivocally be guaranteed that we absolutely WILL be attacked on a major scale again by radical Islamic extremists sometime during his presidency.  And he won't have the spine to fight back.  Not to mention his complete and total withdrawal from Iraq...when we are WINNING!  This man only wants out because it is politically savvy and suits his ends but once tickets are being sold to visit the worlds largest crater where there was once Israel and we have lost all support in the middle east things will quickly turn on him.  Oh and his health care plan...ya know for insuring every American.  That one...that HORRIFIC one.  That plan that would send the cost of health care skyrocketing so high that his argument that only the super wealthy could afford reasonable health care may actually begin to hold some truth to it.  If that gets passed the country can prepare for the DMV to begin running its hospitals and clinics while multiple insurance companies fall and collapse due to the fact they can no longer afford to remain in business now that the government is "providing" health care which will, in turn, most likely give rise to a mega company with an unfair market edge that would be providing actual health care...at incredibly expensive prices.  And this is just the tip of the iceberg ladies and gentlemen.

Now one may be thinking to themselves "this is horrible...why in the world would we ever want this to come to pass?".  It is a fair thought to be sure.  But think of it looking four years down the road.  The economy would be in shambles.  The US a joke on the international scale as both an economic and militaristic superpower.  Not to sound all doom and gloom but like would, quite frankly and in all honesty, suck.  Can there be a better setting for a republican president to take office?  And not just a Republican but a true conservative one as well.

The economic stagnation and military disarmament that would occur as a result of Obama could, and in all honesty probably will, bring the Republican party back to its base.  It will make them remember that the ideas of smaller and more limited government actually work and that the idea of cutting wasteful government spending is one of the absolute proven best ideas in history.  They will once again realize that in order to stay in power they cannot bank on the fact they have held the congress for so long to rely on continued voting to occur.  They will begin to come back to the right side of the aisle and, ideally, no longer follow this debauchery of the Democrat ideology of new taxes and more spending.  In short...they will become conservatives again.

Now I am an adamant Romney supporter.  I think he was, by far, the most conservative candidate the GOP had to offer in this election.  However, as more and more data comes out about the kind of support Obama is getting I just honestly feel that he is going to win.  The media is going to hand him the presidency on a silver platter and if he doesn't win all hell will break loose as the NAACP, ACLU, and the magnificent "Rainbow Coalition" trot in to the scene to decry the voting system and insist on multiple Al Gore type recounts until even after 2012...and I really don't have the stomach to deal with that drama again.  In all fairness to Mitt Romney I believe that should he get the nod from McCain to run this election with him he could do tremendous good in the event McCain wins.  But I doubt he will.  And a lose would severely dampen Romney's chances in 2012.  So while it makes sense for McCain to pick Romney it is fairly safe to say the former will not do it and try to make some political statement in his move.

So now given that we all know McCain will not go with a logical candidate as his running mate *cough* Romney *cough*...oh excuse me...this will be a gigantic blow to the actual conservatives out there who want to see change in Washington they all know he is unable to bring about.  In all honesty McCain should go with Huckabee.  No seriously.  The reasoning behind this idea is that he is essentially the same hack politician McCain is and will always be.  Huckabee brings absolutely nothing to the table in terms of foreign policy.  His "tax reform" in AK supposedly raised taxes yet he preaches on nailing the going out of business sign on the door of the IRS.  His own family seems to have its own issues inside of it, and while it is a far cry to say my own family is perfect(and this is only parents and siblings...my own kids, God forbid, will much likely be something FAR worse then I ever was to my parents) I think it says something when ones son is found to be torturing and killing small animals.  Didn't Ted Bundy or Jeffery Dahlmer do that?  One of them I think.  Not to say he would turn out to be a serial killer/rapist or a freakishly albino homosexual cannibal...but still...food for thought.  Most importantly if anyone watched his interview on Larry King Live the guy is a complete pushover if even the slightest pressure is pressed on him from the media.  If McCain is going to lose, and it is a very likely possibility, he should take someone down with him that is about as worthless as he is.  And even to a religious conservative like myself his ideas of bringing religion back in to the White House are really unnerving to me.

So some may bring up the point that "Oh noes...Romney is a cult Mormon.  How can we ever trust him?".  Who.  Bloody.  Cares.  By that point in the game, if Obama is elected remember, I would vote for a Mormon, a Catholic, a Jew, a Protestant, an Evangelical, a Hindu, a Taoist, a MODERATE Muslim, a scientologist(not Tom Cruise though), or even a freak on a street corner who worships God by sucking the fresh blood from a goat during the seven/thirteenths moon every fourth month unless it is a day that ends in the letter Y (which is of course all of them...yet I am sure someone will figure that out and put it in to practice eventually) so long as any of them had the credentials to turn this country around the way it needs to be.  And frankly by that point I think most Americans will be of the same opinion as well.
